Inter's Motta Insists Red Card was Unfair

Inter midfielder Thiago Motta claims
that referee Franck De Bleeckere
never should have sent him off
after 28 minutes during the
Nerazzurri's clash with Barcelona.
Motta saw red after his arm made
contact with Sergio Busquets, and
De Bleeckere perceived the strike
to be violent.
But replays show that the Barcelona
player was looking towards the
referee, and once the card was
awarded, quickly got up and
played, which infuriated the
Beneamata players.
"It was an injustice," Motta told
Inter Channel. "Upon my dismissal
from the pitch - thanks to the TV
replays - I saw that my opponent
turned and looked at the referee
whilst on the ground, seeing if he
was close.
"Playing in the final was my dream,
and I hope that the replay will help
me realise this dream. Maybe the
referee did not see it, but someone
else could have.
"This is not honest. If the player
helps out the referee, the decisions
taken are made much simpler.
"I even saw the goal from my
vantage point, and giving the
offside decision would have been
difficult. No other side has the same
determination and fighting spirit like
we do.
"The supporters deserve to be
thanked after they have supported
us up to this stage," added Motta.

Inter Masterclass beats Barcelona to Champions League Final

A more calculated and well organized defensive Inter Milan squeezed past Champions league holders and favourites, Barcelona to the final of the competition. Inter Milan under the Special One, Jose Mourinho showed a well resolved defence and despite going one man down after a red card in the first half, they still showed a very impressive performance. Inter Milan won 3-2 on aggregate after Pique scored Barcelona's only goal towards the tail end of the match. A second goal from Bojan which would have seen the hosts through was ruled out after an earlier hand ball by Yaya Toure.
All in all, Inter Milan are through to an action packed final against Bayern Munich.

Nigeria U17 beat Spain 2-1

Nigeria's under 17 team proceeded to the final of the competition after a 3-1 drubbing of Spain last night. Although the Spanish side put up a spirited fight against the Eaglets, they couldn't outwit them. Despite holding most of the possession in the first half and the beginning of the second, the Spaniards could only come to score a consolation goal in the closing moments of the second half.
